Lay-by-Truck stop, A336 Southampton-Ringwood Road, Bartley
A336 Opposite Bourne Road Between Cadnam & Netley marsh
This is a lay-by on the A336 opposite Bourne Road near Bartley (between Cadnam & Netley Marsh). Despite there not being any facilities here it is very popular as an overnight truck stop during the week. The drivers use the near-by Haywane pub/restaurant for their meals and liquid refreshment. Alongside the surfaced lay-by there is quite a thick wooded area which is used for cruising, pathways can be seen leading into the woods. This lay-by gets quite busy late afternoon during the winter or dusk in the summer with both trucks and cars. The trucks normally stay all night. Activity has been seen in the wooded area as well as in the vehicles. If you are planning to cruise the woods at night ensure you have a torch otherwise you will break your neck!
Neighbourhood: Bartley
If on the M27 from the west take Exit 1 for Cadnam. At the Cadnam roundabout take the A336 for Totton & Southampton. After about half a mile you will drive through Bartley, 500 metres further on is the entrance to lay-by which is not easy to see. From Totton, take the A336 towards Cadnam. After a couple of miles you will drive through Netley Marsh. Less than a mile further on Bourne Road is on the left and the entrance to the lay-by is a few metres further on, on the right.

- Hours:Late afternoon in the short winter days or at about dusk in the summer.
- Cruising Info/ Tips:Just walk through the lay-by to be seen then enter the woods. Please take a torch at night.
- Nudity / Policy:This is a public lay-by, the only nudity/ should take place int he woods or the darkened vehicles.
- Wheelchair Accessible:No / Entrance into the woods is impossible if you have physical limitations
- Warnings:Occassionally the police pass through here checking the trucks. Do not enter the woods in the dark unless you have a torch. There is a ditch and a flattened fence, if one does not get you the other could!
