  • Its a sad but true fact that most bars and bath houses are on the decline. Not just here in Vic. but in most cities. The whole scene has changed no thanks to the internet. Nobody hangs out in bars anymore and at the cost of a beer who wants to. Most people stay home with a bottle of wine and and cruise websites such as this one. The most bizarre thing is Steam Works has a computer for guest use. Are they on a suicide mission or what. Ive heard many complaints from guys down there that everyone spends too much time on the computer and not on each other.

  • I had the pleasure of working breefly with Pircher Kapus (aka, Attila). While employed with Prism, I fell witness to many things beneath the scene, some good and some iffy. While having dinner with Pircher at the Cactus Club, he was inviting the hostess down to the bar. She said that she and her friends didn't want to go there because, it was a GAY bar.
Yet straight away, Attila, assured the hostess that it was in fact "NOT" a gay bar, what he said was that it was in fact an "Everybody" bar. So, yes, there is a lot going on there that is great for business and for the equalization of the entire community, both straight and Gay. Yet to be precise, this is "Not" a gay bar.

The name has also changed, from Prism to now being, Paparazzi !!!
Attila is working very hard to make the bar survive without having to use money from his own pocket just to keep it afloat. And personally, I think as a community, we need to stop complaining about everything that is wrong with the bar and maybe step up and help make it a better environment for everybody.

Attila is doing everything within his power to help keep this bar alive for the community, even going to the extent of gathering patrons from within other communities. Attila saying to people that this is "NOT" a gay bar, yet an "Everybody" bar. Just goes to show how much he is willing to do, to make this bar work and help build a more openly diverse community, without segregation.

And even though, I decided to take a permenant leave of absence, I do wish him and the bar success. As, I know how hard he works for this community.

  • A guy buys a gay bar, starts renovating, and calls it an "Everybody" bar. This only means the one thing it is NOT, is a gay bar.
