Is This Your Business?

Banning park is located in Wilmington, California which is bounded by Interstate 110 (Harbor Freeway), the Los Angeles port, and the Alameda freight railway corridor. The park contains a community center, senior center, and small baseball field which all face Eubank Ave. Do not use any restrooms located in these facilities as they are not cruisy! The rest of the park is located behind the facilities mentioned between East M St and Pacific Coast Hwy. There is only one men's restroom in the park and it is located in the north end facing Pacific Coast Hwy and a Public Storage facility. The restrooms are old, very old, decrepit, with no doors, barely working plumbing, and a single 3 inch across gloryhole shared by the last two stalls.

Neighbourhood: Wilmington

Banning park is about a mile and a half east of Interstate 110 (Harbor Freeway) or about three miles west of Insterstate 710 (Long Beach Freeway). Take just about any freeway in Los Angeles to the 110 or 710 and head south. From the 110 exit Pacific Coast Hwy, turn left, head a mile and a half, and the park will be on your right hand side. From the 710 exit Pacific Coast Hwy west/north, continue on Pacific Coast Hwy through an industrial looking refinery and railroad area until you come upon Eubank Ave and turn left or u-turn somewhere along Pacifc Coast Hwy to park along the street during non-rush hour periods. There are two small parking lots the first of which is located on Eubank Ave and the other located on M street. Avoid parking on Eubank as most people who park there use the community facilities.
  • Hours:Park is open sun up to sun down. I've never been there during the night time hours. The neighborhood can be a bit rough after dark.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Hook ups and cruising only occurs in the restroom. Do not hook up and cruise outside the park restrooms as there is no area that is secluded other than inside park restrooms. Weekday afternoons and evenings are cruisy. Weekend's and holidays are harder to cruise because the park is busy with parties and families that are not there for hooking up.
  • Nudity / Policy:It's a bathroom, so I wouldn't be shocked to see someone's pants down, but is not permitted and there is no privacy in the stalls. The only warning that is available is the sound of footsteps walking on the gravel and leaves outside the restroom. Even the softest of walkers will make noise approaching the restroom entrance.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / Uneven pavement, wet floors, and relatively small stalls make handicap access nearly impossible.
  • Warnings:Mostly Latino neighborhood around Banning park so the men are mostly Latino who go and cruise. There are no doors on stalls that previously had doors so there was obviously concern about cruising, but it's been years since the restroom as been paid attention to for that reason. The area is a bit run down, so if that freaks you out then stay home.
