# Cruising Gays > A worldwide directory of LGBTQ+ venues and meeting places, covering 6,044 cities and 43,535 listed places. Each place has an address, coordinates, description, photos and user comments. The catalogue is the point: if you need venues for a city, use the sitemaps below rather than crawling the site. Listings are organised city first, then category. Ten categories are used throughout: `areas`, `bars`, `bathhouses`, `bookstores`, `cafes`, `groups`, `gyms`, `hotels`, `shops`, `travels`. URL patterns: - City overview — `/{city}/` (e.g. `/berlin/`) - Category listing within a city — `/{city}/c/{category}/` (e.g. `/berlin/c/bars/`) — note the `/c/` - A single place — `/{city}/{category}/{id}-{slug}/` (e.g. `/berlin/bars/396-le-moustache/`) — no `/c/` - Events, filterable by city — `/gayevents?city={city}` City names are lowercase and hyphenated (`new-york`, `sao-paulo`, `kuala-lumpur`). The legacy shape `/{city}/{id}-{slug}/` still resolves and issues a single 301 to the canonical place URL. ## Catalogue - [Sitemap index](https://www.cruisinggays.com/sitemap.xml): points to both sitemaps below - [Cities sitemap](https://www.cruisinggays.com/sitemap_cities.xml): all 6,044 city pages - [Places sitemap](https://www.cruisinggays.com/sitemap_places.xml): all 43,535 place pages, with last-modified dates ## Main sections - [Home](https://www.cruisinggays.com/): search by city, recently added places - [Map](https://www.cruisinggays.com/map/): every place plotted; pins load client-side, so the sitemaps are a better source for bulk data - [Events](https://www.cruisinggays.com/gayevents): upcoming LGBTQ+ events, filterable by city - [Tours](https://www.cruisinggays.com/tours/): organised trips ## Optional - [robots.txt](https://www.cruisinggays.com/robots.txt): crawl rules. `/sitemap/` (the legacy HTML sitemap) is disallowed — it is slow to render and the XML sitemaps above supersede it. Member, profile and account paths are disallowed and contain no catalogue data. Please prefer the XML sitemaps over crawling. The site runs on a single worker, and a full crawl of 43,535 pages degrades it for human visitors.
