Is This Your Business?

The beach is for general naturists, it's got str8 people and often, children. The meadow is mostly gay & bi, where all kinds of may occur. In between you might find anything... 12/17/04 A cruiser reports: The crusiest part of the canyon is between the Damn and the Meadows. The "beach" is where the families and straight naturists hang out. Hike up the canyon and feast your eyes from there!
Crowd: Everyone, from gays to str8 nudists; all ages, including children.

Who's Coming

Everyone, from gays to str8 nudists; all ages, including children.

From Tucson take I-10 southeast 15 miles, from Exit 275 take Houghton Rd. north for 13 miles, turn right (east) on Tanque Verde Rd.(which becomes Redington Rd.) for 6 miles, 1.5 miles past end on pavement. Park in turnout on left side on road and take trail marked "Upper Tanque Verde Falls".After descending into the canyon, hike upstream (left) past old dam to the gay nude area.

cruiser adds: The trailhead is difficult to see from the road, and there are actually two trails within 150 feet of each other. The Upper Falls trail, which is described in this listing, is further east than the other, the trailhead being where the road crooks to the north. A little ways down the trail you come upon two yellow signs - that's how you know you're on the right trail.

  • Was there today and saw FOX 11 news crew there also. Don't know what will come of their being there but the nightly news should let us know. Until then, watch out!

  • Well, in my opinion, calling it a meadow is a bit misleading - the canyon opens to the south and the slope becomes much less. It IS somewhat grassy, but there are also trees.

  • Im going to go there Saturday. I'm hoping that it's not too hard to figure out how to get to the Meadow. I'm assuming it's fairly obvious once you get there?

  • Is the water runnig in the canyon? I'm gonna go by today, probably take the shortcut to avoid descending to the beach then the scramble over the rocks - heading for the meadow!

  • No despite the nudist signs...(which were made by nudists themselves ...mind you the signs were scraped on by existing park signs by fellow nudist/cruisers etc) it is not legal to be nude...ive been told by longtime regulars here that rangers and cops know of thsi area but because it is so secluded the manpower would be to costly......and since nobody really is being harmed or no history of crime.....they leave it be......so go and enjoy being nude.......its great cruising ............have fun

  • So a friend of mine says there are atctual nude warning signs which is cool. Does this mean it's legal to be nude there because I would love to try that so bad. Sounds nice, open, and fun.

  • There is a pretty good trail that starts off to the left just before you get to the rocky overlook above the beach. It goes up over the saddle to the left of the big rock outcropping just upstream from the beach, avoiding the rockhopping on the bottom of the canyon. It's well-used and not hard to follow, although I've never felt the need to go that far. It's just under 1/2 miles from the car to the beach, and just a bit less than 3/4 miles up the canyon bottom from the beach to the meadow. Anything can happen just about anywhere. Enjoy!

  • Can you go nude as soon as you leave your vehicle? Or do you have to wait until you are on a certain part of the trail?

I'm going ot be in Tucson on Jan 24 for 5 nights. I think I'm going ot check out this area on Saturday the 24th. Hope to meet some others there. Send me an email if you're going to be there.

  • @dynmk2002: You're not the first person I've heard mention their concerns about being seen in the company of the underaged guys who can go up there. You're very sensible to consider keeping your distance.

Though there's no way to prevent underaged from going up there, it's probably something we should all keep in mind. All it takes is one misunderstanding and you'd better believe the TV stations would have a field day (especially KGUN). No moralizing here -- just a cautious reminder. Hope it warms up soon....
