Take Spillway Rd. South, (second set of stoplights outside of Carbondale; IKE's Auto Park) and go toward the lake. Go about 2 miles, past one boat ramp, on past the dam, and as you go around a curve and head up hill, its just a little past the top of the hill on the left hand side of the road.
  • Crowd:locals, college guys, older guys.
  • Hours:After dark- 2-3am
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Sit with parking lights on, flash lights when someone pulls down there.
    Cruisiest Spots: Just pull down to the lot and wait a little bit.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:If there is a vehicle and boat trailer down there, ya might wanna come back after a bit or ya might be disturbed when the guy comes in to load back up from fishing.

  • Isn't there a fee for a car\truck 'tag' annually ? I was stopped at the Rt. 13 park intersecition and given a warning ticket a couple of years ago I had not even entered Crab Orchard yet .

  • There have been at least two murders of men at this location, one of which is still unsolved. Don't go there. It's not worth it.

  • I know folks who work there. The law enforcement guys know this location (and being the bible thumpers they are) love to give tickets, I don't know if they bother you more than that though.
