update 12/19/2008: Wanted to let everyone know that the closing date for the east bound and west bound rests stops on US 30 is slated for Jan. 15, 2009

  • Ahhh, so many great memories. I'm an inch away from constructing my own lil' run down shack in the woods and declaring it the next great cruising spot. EVERYTHING keeps getting shut down. I agree, let's put our heads together.

  • I read that they are closing these two locations and they already have the property purchased for a new rest area near Auburn on I69. I will see if I can find that article again.

    Damn those rest areas on 30 where fun. Grew up near there and had some very fun encounters.

  • These two rest areas will be closing January 31st permanently, along with the 2 just south of Fort Wayne on I69...I guess the state is broke and cant keep em' open .

  • Saw an atricle in this mornings paper that they are closing both these rest stops within 30 days. Just thought I would post this to let you guys know, have to find a new rest stop to meet truckers.
