Banos Galeana

This bath has an active steamrooms and a full-service bar called 's right outside the locker room. Owner makes all his clients feel right at home with his jovial banter. And the drink prices are unbeatable (2 -for-1 beer at 13 pesos). No, you don't have to get undressed and wear a towel to enjoy the festive atmosphere at the bar. But some of the steamroom patrons do come over every once and a while to chat. The bath is not completely gay, but a high proportion of the clientele is. The trick is to sit in a chair across the door in the dry-room so that it can't be opened.

A reasonable hotel to stay is the Universo on the corner of Lopez Cotilla/Calle Degollado. It is basic but has shower/WC as is reasonably cheap. The Chivas bar opposite is gay, but 's at Galeana 159 (next to banos) is more friendly. There is another bar at Galeana 180-A called Panchos and this has a small disco and is very friendly with some transvestites. Worth a visit.
