  • Following the instructions on this site, I found my way to this interestingly free cruising area. I hooked up with this nice guy; we enjoyed our riparian nakedness without any concerns of being disturbed, except by a few voyeurs who made it all the more exciting. I can't wait to go back

  • Actually found it by riding up the greenway. pretty hot action there. BUT, yes, there are random people. I rode by 3 straight people on their bikes on my way out. So make sure you're more obscured than I was at one point.

  • I like riding my bike up the greenway along the Hudson--is there an easy way to get there on bike paths?

    Commented on 5/20/2009 10:53:49 AM

  • To get there, I would say the path is n the left (that is facing the Hudson). The park is on the right but the path on the left. In any case, its the path with the gate south of the now closed marina.

  • Take the Westside Highway/Henry Hudson to Dyckman street exit. Once off the exit head towards dyckman Marina, underneath Henry Hudson overpass. Park, entrance is on the right hand side.

  • Last time i was here I also noticed an NYPD boat sailing by the rocks where the action is. Not sure if they were looking for cruisers but they kept going back and forth while looking into the bushes.

Also this place although most favorable in the Summer/Spring picks up whenever the weather is warm, so I am sure it should be pretty busy this hot Columbus day weekend.

  • Anybody else see the parks guy patrolling this place on the dune buggy?

Was there during the week, nice day but the place was more empty than ever before and some guy( brown uniform, park ranger?) on a very quiet vehicle was riding up and down the path- saw him twice in about an hour.

What is up with the bright orange paint marking some of the rocks?
Maybe some sort of surveyor marks? Plan for this place to be made into a part of the bike trail around Manhattan? Anybody know anything?

Got a sinking feeling that this spots days are numbered.

    Enjoy carefully while it lasts.
