  • A foggy humid warm day all day today. Most people use the southern end of the beach now since then signs are up around the marsh area. The waves were awesome today!

  • I was there 4/13/08 between 10:30am and 3pm..Started getting crowded around noon and by two pm there were families out on the main beach and all guys near the fun section..Not much action..The beach is coming back!! You can now walk all the way the the rocky shelf and cliff at the far southern end..The lagoon is within a few feet of the breakers..so the creek ought to be breaking thru any day now..The brushy area near the lagoon is still pretty much thrashed, most of it covered up with sand; altho the "hiding places" near the north east area are still there, the poison oak danger persists..
There was a whale swimming around out there yesterday..

  • re: the patrols.I saw the tracks in the sand around 2pm..I don't think they were cops..looked like State park wildlife biologists.I was there last week, 3/17/08/ The beach is still in winter form..that Jan. 4th storm did a whopper on this beach!..The whole north end quarter mile is down to bedrock. it looks awesome..The cliff gently slopes down into the sea. There is no sand at all..The Lagoon is the same size as it always is ..The sand has piled up and blown over the brushy area near the eastern edge of the beach near the cliffs..The extreme north end of the beach is all bedrock..
