Is This Your Business?

Fubar is a small, neighborhood watering hole in the east part of West Hollywood, frequented by younger 20-30-somethings looking to get crazy with loud music and crazy dancers. The DJs are generally good and adventurous, and there is even a small "dancing" platform, almost-naked dancing boys scattered about in various corners. The place is small and very "cozy" with guys squeezing past you to get by. There is generally a small cover charge on weekends, which is well worth the fun you'll have.
Crowd: Younger, energetic crowd, but not twinkies. Guys tend to be in their late twenties, early thirties, with a few older guys here and there. Mostly fun-loving West Hollywood guys who are a little more grown up than the bitchy queens who hang out on Robertson.

Not hard to find. Look for the famous French Market Place on Santa Monica Blvd. just east of Crescent Heights, and Fubar is the small bar on the other side of the boulevard, usually with a bunch of boys standing around outside smoking and chatting.
Cross street: Laurel (between Fairfax and Crescent Heights)

  • Hours:Things usually start between 9 and 10 PM depending on which night of the week.
Best times: I recommend Saturday nights. The later you get there, the crazier the dancers are the more of a free for all it tends to be in the darkest corners.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:There is so little space that everyone's pretty much always rubbing up against everyone else as they move about. Just give the guy you like the eye and spend a little bit of "extra" time rubbing against him. If he likes you, you'll probably be making out in no time.
Cruisiest Spots: Toward the back of the bar in dark spots where it's really crowded. Expect to have your or your crotch grabbed.
  • Nudity / Policy:It's a bar, not a -club, so behave accordingly. Mind your manners.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / This place is really small and really crowded, so I would not recommend if you're not able bodied.
  • Warnings:As with most bars in WeHo (and sadly more and more in Silverlake), too many damned women, especially the fugly 300 lb. loudmouths who think its cute to go to a gay bar, get wasted, and grab guys' crotches while screaming in their ears. Also, some of the bartenders are pretty moody and bitter all the time, like they're pissed off about being rejected by the Abbey.
Warnings: Nothing in particular. So far this place seems to have stayed off the radar screens of the Puritans. Let's be cool and keep it that way.

whos coming to Fubar

  • I used to live very close to this place and used to go every weekend, it was MUCH more sexually charged before. Now there seems to be an increase of the queeny guys and therefore it has turned a bit like a place to hang out with 'the girlfriends' just like The Abbey and Mickey's/Rage. They have underwear night on saturday and NOBODY gets to their underwear and the guys that do... are looked down upon. It's pretty much a crappy bar now. The bartenders and DJ's have to BEG guys to get in their underwear, they even offer free drinks and no... hahaha Go somewhere else.
