Steamworks, New Cross Road

cruiser update 6/9/2008: This is now my local Sauna. At Ten Pounds including free squash, tea or coffee its not a bad deal.

Upstairs you have the lounge area showing national Television, locker area and toilets, plus an outside smoking area (The smoking area is directly outside and the garden is overlooked so patrons are respectfully asked to where a tee shirt whenever going outside to smoke so as to not offend the neighbours).

Taking the stairs downstairs there is a fairly large sauna and a very steamy Steam Room plus shower facilities.

During my visits most of the cruising has occured in the steam room.

There is a small cruising zone with showing on a television set along with a few plastic chairs and 2 beds in a slightly netted area. There are no s or cabins so all cruising is preety much public or hidden behind a simple curtain.

That said, people come here to get a bit of and there is far less attitude than you find at some of the bigger central saunas. Its open 24 hours from Friday to Sunday and has a steady stream of visitors of all ages.
