Route Head for the Appalachian path. There are parking areas on both sides of the roadway. Stroll right into the timbers on the northbound side of the roadway, by the large rocks. Walk back over the wooden path. Lots of areas to play in the woods.

Hours of Activity

Open all the time.Most of the action is commuters going to and from work. So most of the action takes place early morning and late afternoon and evening
But you can get lucky during the day.

Who's Coming

Heading south from Monroe, Turn onto Lakes Road, (County Route 5), heading south. Trail head is about 6 miles south of Route 17M. Just passed Windridge Farms. Look for the large electricity pylons. Heading North from Greenwood Lake and Route 17A area. Head north on Lakes Road about 4 or 5 miles. Look for the large electricity pylons. If you pass Windridge Farms you went about a quarter mile too far.

  • Just walk back into the woods, across the wooden footpath. Most of the action takes place back out of sight from the road and off to the sides of the trail.
