Weekend nights seem to be good. It's hard to say what it will be like with the new layout. I would guess it will be open for Memorial Day. They installed a portage on the cloquet, so maybe some canoers?
Crowd: Mostly 30-40 of age, sometimes others.

Take Hwy 53 northbound from Duluth (16 miles), or Hwy 33 north (12 miles), from Cloquet.

  • Hours:It is only open seasonally, but usually after dark. Even so, I have often found guys going at it under the bridge after work (3-5pm).
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Sit at a picnic table by the trail or flash taillights.
    Cruisiest Spots: Parking lot, restroom, or down the trail and under the bridge.

  • oct 18th, 2002, the 10pm newscast out of duluth stated a man was arrested for trying to lure underage boys to the independence rest stop.
