Is This Your Business?

A lesser-used, scarcely-known trail that connects an unofficial path to a dead-end, residential street behind an historic house. Shand House is on the hill to one side, Haliburton House on another. Normal houses all around.
Crowd: Teens, dog-walkers, locals, middle-aged to elderly men and women. Very secluded/unknown. Merely a dark, wooded trail that connects a dirt path along the local waterfront/lake to a residential dead end road which also has a path up wooden stairs to the Haliburton House estate park.

Neighbourhood: Residential/Haliburton House

Right behind historic Haliburton House. From the bridge to Falmouth/downtown Water Street, walk down the sloping path by the road/bridge ramp down onto a trail along the Pziquid Lake. Follow the trail until a path branches off into a dark wooded trail to your left. This is the cruising spot.
  • Crowd:Teens, dog-walkers, locals, middle-aged to elderly men and women. Very secluded/unknown. Merely a dark, wooded trail that connects a dirt path along the local waterfront/lake to a residential dead end road which also has a path up wooden stairs to the Haliburton House estate park.
  • Hours:Afternoon to evening. Residential area surrounds it (hills all around with homes on them, quite literally on top of you) so night would be risky if you're loud. The afternoon seems best. Try times when people aren't leaving or returning home.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Go in the afternoon. If needed, go into the bushes alongside the dark trail in spring and summer. The place is not secluded or shaded in the winter when the leaves go. To get to it, if unclear, go on Water Street until it ends/the ramp to the bridge to Falmouth begins. Next to the Sam Slick/Welcome to Windsor sign is a dirt path which slopes down under the hill that Shand House is on. Follow this to the dark trail on your left. The dark trail is the cruisiest spot.
Cruisiest Spots: The Connector--the dark, wooded trail behind houses on hills. A canopy of tree branches covers the trail mostly and makes it dark all day, it is below/behind houses on each side though. Make sure you're on this dark trail and not the long trail that wraps around the lake.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Dog-walkers and teens looking for cigarettes/walking around. Nearby residents at their houses able to see/hear the area at certain times of day.
Warnings: Best to go at night in order to avoid families. Use discretion and clean up after yourself.
This is in the heart of a residential area, so keep in mind that people are in some sense, always gonna be around. It is a trail which is short and never busy, but in between two tourist attractions. Don't attempt it in winter.
