Both nights you mentioned tend to be good. Things can be a bit late really getting going though, as alot of people come here from the clubbing.

Was at the sauna a few weeks a go and got ripped off - staff are theives and when challenged say....why didn't you use a safe. Going to set this place up for a sting with marked bills.

Clearly, this place isn't the safest place ... I've never been there, but I can tell Sauna Oasis gathers the worst reviews ever, It's not encouraging me to give the place a shot ...

Some spots are hit and miss... this place is always a hit regardless of time or day.... i like the thursday nights, when the steam room turns into a bubbles room - hot!

I'm going to echo Bareback_Dude's comments. I totally agree with him. The cruisy spots section is intended for those who want to talk about their experience and provide any information that they think others would find useful.

If you're looking to find out who's going and when, etc, use the message board section instead.

I was here 2 times on my visit to Montreal and have found this place to have the best looking but also the most attitude of the saunas in the village . It seems everyone just walks around and round expecting someone more worthy on the next lap ? Unless you're a Gym Bunny or under 25 one would be best off to avoid this place .

I've been to Steamworks in Toronto a couple of times and all this metal makes me feel like being in a dentist cabinet

I was here Thrsdy Night. Not a bad crowd pretty mixed. Dropped a couple of loads and played in my first foam party, Squeaky clean fun!

When Steamworks opened in Toronto, which saunas had to close down? Club Toronto, Spa Excess, St. Marcs are surprisingly still there. Club Toronto still alive?

They may not be as busy as before but these saunas are still there. Some guys, even young guys, don't like the "modern look" of Steamworks an prefer the more "kinky" look of a sauna like the St. Marc's.

If Steamworks were to open up here, let's say in the village on Ste. Catherine st.. I could see, Le St. Cat, Gijoe and possibly Oasis closing down. Centre villle would probably survive since this seems to be the sauna of choice for older men and the younger guys who love them.

When Steamworks opened in Toronto few years ago some saunas had to close and it became the sauna of choice. The cleanliness of Montreal's sauna is keeping younger guy away which isnt the case in TO.

Oasis was around 10 years ago and it was a big deal then. 8 years ago when I was old enough to go it was up to standards. Over the years I've seen it go downwards. The problem in Montreal is that there is over a dozen of saunas who are in a price war. When a sauna charges under 5 $ for entrance don't expect a clean and pleasant experience. Go to Chicago to Toronto and see what you get when saunas compete on quality rather than pricing only.

I agree with Studmtl21 that there is a pricing war going on.. and I agree that quality and cleanliness have gone down with the prices as well. What I don't understand is how they all can stay in business? They are never that busy.. and I have been to most of them in the village and on the Plateau.. Internet is not helping.. but do we really need that many. We don't have the population to support most of them. I would love to see Steamworks open up here.. then the rest of them would have to raise their standards or close down..

Oasis was supposed to close a couple of years ago - they had announced it anyway. Supposedly no one went there. I never heard what happened to keep it opened.

I also noticed the age discrepancy. I also wonder why he says there are no other alternatives - there are more saunas and they are quite popular.

This has got to be the most deceptive sauna you've ever been to. It is extremely dirty and outdated, the crowd is a bunch of regulars in their 40s +. It used to be an icon of the montreal scene 10 years ago. It remains somewhat popular with tourists only because there is no other alternatives in the city and because they became agressive (not to say desperate) by reducing their prices. It's time for major renovations. Too bad there is no Steamworks here like in the nice one they have in Toronto.

Was there a couple of times last week. The FOAM PARTY seems to be going over very well...attracting alot of guys. Bit too much foam sometimes though LOL. A lot of action going in the dark areas upstairs. Place is always fun.
Oh and most of (maybe all) the rooms now have lockable metal cabinets inside for valuables.
