60commentsUpdate 3/3/2009: The Fox is showing straight adult 7 days a week, the large balcony on the main floor is gone making way for a large standing area at the back. A couples balcony upstairs can be rented for an additional fee. Adult films, lots of 'straight' guys that love to show off their dicks to other guys. They're showing regular flicks on the weekends but they are still showing adult movies during the week.

Sounds like what happened in Beijing last year before the summer olympics: all the bathhouses were closed and only a couple of them have been opened since. Also a few raids on the few gay bars in the city. There's nothing like a police state - which Vancouver has turned into!

WARNING: 2 Guys Arrested at Fox Theatre Last Night At about 11pm Thursday night, 2 plain clothes police officers came into the Fox Theatre and stood at the back for a while. They each took a turn walking down the centre aisle to the front and back. After conferring with each other at the back again, they selected a couple of guys in the middle, went up and confronted them with a flashlight, and then removed them from the theatre. Listening from the other side of the door, I could hear them telling the guys that they were both "under arrest for committing a lewd act in a public place". That did it for me - I left via the front door (and I ain't goin' back)

OrliBloom that was last Sat. As of this past Wed they are told by the city to check every half hour and to keep a log. So be carefull.

If everyone would just ubderstand that if you keep a low profile you'd be left alone. It is the HEALTH issue that draws attention. They are trying harder here to keep o0ut the smokers, and crackheads, and even supplying soap in the washrooms, but it is the dirtiness of places like Bonanza etc, that draw attention because they won't spend a nickel to clean them! If you want to stay in business, CLEAN UP YOUR BUSINESS!

As I recall your name was John...we met at the Fox early afternoon on Friday Nov 7th and blew each other in the front row and then left together through the back door. We at one time worked for the same company but not at the same location. You were going to the Aquatic Center and gave me a ride back downtown...we were going to go for a beer but I had left my meds at my hotel and was having some pain so you dropped me off. I liked you and got the feeling that in other circumstances we would probably have had that beer...and then some...probably dinner and some clubbing etc. later. Be warned, the cops are active in there and they are going to close it down at the first opportunity because of the crack smoking and smoking violations. A friend who knows a cop told me that. Apparantly they were in the upstairs part videotaping the people below because drug dealers are starting to use the place. Too bed..

Unless they start throwing out the crack smokers, expect to lose this last theater. There are many in there all the time now. It might be a good idea to call the police over smoking inside, I have threatened the desk people but they pretend they don't understand. The crack was so strong the other night I thought it would get on my clothing and left. If EVERYONE who went in complained, it might help and they say they have a web site now, go there and blast them. Maybe they'll do something. Probably not though. Expect it to go soon and the city is no longer licencing these places.
