Update 3/3/2009: Innis College has gone to great lengths to stop cruising in this washroom now: -doors on both ends of the hallway have been propped open. -The have removed the middle on each side of the centre wall of s. -They have place HUGE privacy "fins" between the two remaining s on each side...PLUS the same privacy "fins" on both ends of each wall so that anyone coming into the washroom or anyone sitting in the s CANNOT see the guys at the s. -they have screwed onto the doors...metal plates that run the length of the door on each side...both on the hinge side and on the lock side. From what I heard there were soooooo many complaints from regular students wanting to use the washrooms to actually have a or ... and all the s and all the s were taken up by cruisers...they students were fed up. If you still cruise here...be careful...it is apparent they are on to the whole scene there. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see security cameras here next.

The guide

Where exactly

Take subway to St. George station. Get out and walk south about 3 blocks. Cross street: In between Harbord & Boor On St. George

Cruisiest spot: Only one spot to go... Mens washroom in the basement. Go into the building, keep to the right, until you see the long hallway, follow the hallway down, there's a big room with tables and stuff in it. Don't go into that room, instead hang a left and you'll see a set of stairs going down to a door. Go through the door, follow the hallway of lockers down a bit. Guys washroom is on the left.

When to go

After 4 and before 6pm. If nothing's going on, walk over to UC Basement or Larkin and keep cruising back and forth, you'll find what you're looking for.

Etiquette

The designer of the building must have really wanted gay guys to have here. SO secluded, and out of the way, nobody goes there except for . Even the washroom itself is set up well for this. Lots and Lots and LOTS of privacy. Use the urinals behind the little wall, or go in the left hand (hole where the lock should be, so if you're shy and don't want anyone to see you, at least you can watch other guys going at it. But they tend to get really nervous. Other regular students go there too. The really y guys are the ones who are a bit older, seem like university staff, or older students. Then, there are some really weird guys who hang around there. This is a convenient location for U of T students to get their load off right at the centre of campus! Good times seem to be pre-lunch time, at around 11 am, or after-work time, between 4 and 7 pm. Also, everyone knows that this washroom is the " washroom". I know of one prof. who warns his students not to use those washrooms because guys have there.

Safety

The washroom got deserted following being closed for awhile and a series of media reports last year about the gay . Apparently there is a crazy cleaner woman, however i have yet to see her.

It also makes it harder for curious/bi guys to cruise when there are lots of older guys around because it can get intimidating. Regardless, I think that moving the fun to Robarts is a good idea
