  • Ive gone to Playhouse when im on vacation for a long time. Last June it was dead. A google search " tampa bay arrests playhouse theatre" verifies the bad news with many links to TBO and St Pete Times.

    Commented on 5/4/2009 10:32:12 AM

  • This place is pathetic and the #1 spot to get arrested for indecent exposure. Plus, it is absolutely filthy.

Read carefully the comments that are positive about this place. It should be transparent to you that those who write have personal interests in this place.

    Commented on 5/1/2009 11:36:30 AM

  • In January, police reported 163 arrests in a six-month undercover operation in Drew Park. There were 22 arrests at Playhouse Adult Theater and 21 arrests at another venue called Fantasy Land.

  • "Two guys behind a closed and locked door are free to do their thing without any worry."

    This is simply NOT true.

    Commented on 4/21/2009 10:08:35 AM

  • If they "care" so much, why don't the owners offer to reimburse the hundreds of gay men who were not "shady" and who were arrested at the Playhouse the $3000 - $5000 they had to pay for attorney's fees and offer to hire a lawyer to get their records expunged? I would hardly qualify a place where over 400 people have been arrested as "safe".

    Commented on 4/21/2009 10:06:10 AM

  • what is everyone so up in arms about if you are not being a shady character no need to be worried it is a safe and friendly place to go the playhouse has been in business for along time im sure they didnt want any trouble with the cops but when your #1 people try and go after you so quit riding the place so hard there is enough business for everyone no need to bad mouth

  • I normally visit the playhouse when I visit tampa but it HAS been the scene of several recent raids. I did not get that information from other cruisers i read it on TBO! Anyone that can read and follow links can easily find the reports!

    Commented on 4/18/2009 9:39:13 AM

  • Like I said-a lot of BS and wantithard is helping spread it. He claims he was there when more arrests were made. Let him show any link to a story on TBO or any connection to an arrest record for April 5th. I have to suspect he's a phony whos just out to harm the business. People need to judge for themselves anyway-and not the rantings of every person with a keyboard persuade them.

    Commented on 4/18/2009 9:31:03 AM

  • The last bust in Drew Park according to TBO was Mar. 15th. Although you may be right, I haven't found it yet.... just fyi

  • Wrong dickbagger I was there ..thank god I was behaving myself at that moment..........DANGEROUS PLACE TO GO!!!!!!!

    Commented on 4/16/2009 10:17:39 AM

  • WOW-has the BS gotten deep on this site. There wasn't any bust on April 5th. The place is not a filthy hole it's just older than most of the stores around here. If someone/anyone is worried about their safety then just go to the bath house, get a room and have at it. The bath house hasn't ever been bothered by cops or creeps in any way since it opened 6 years ago. Two guys behind a closed and locked door are free to do their thing without any worry.

  • Was there on Saturday afternoon. 1st timer. I went into the M/F theater. It was so dark I literally couldn't see my hand in front of my face let alone any of the seats. After a few minutes watching dialogue, I went to the arcade/maze area. This area was actually pretty cool. Large booths but no GHs. Went into a booth and started stroking. A couple of guys watched a little. I got nervous so went to another and blew my load. Not sure what is/isn't allowed in the maze area. Anyone have any guidance or pointers for a newbie?

  • After all the raids and publicity surrounding those raids, you would think people would "wise-up" and stop going here. These raids will only continue, and their timing and frequency are totally unpredictable. To answer your question, it is never safe here.

  • Hey Dorothy
Your not in Kansas anymore.. Yes it's dark and yes it's full of men wanting to do nasty (fun) things. One theater attracts some couples,, and the Maze a horrible scary place ?

Not sure what you were expecting - but this is not the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall if that's what you were looking for.

    Commented on 2/17/2009 8:53:57 AM

    Commented on 2/5/2009 9:00:19 AM

  • from what I understand the current management doesn't care what you do in the maze or in the theater as long as it doesn't involve prostitution or drugs. But the booths are large enough for two people to be in no problem and the theater is so dark you can do just about anything in there.

    Commented on 2/4/2009 7:08:42 AM

  • I visited this place last night around 8pm. Place was dead...I am confused about the aracade. The gloryholes are not between the booths, but between a hall and a booth. How does that work out? There are cameras all in that area.

  • Fantasyland is alive and well. They re operating differently and new owners cleaned and built some theme rooms on the theater side they are charging 19 for singles and 19 for a couple.

Fantasyland is doing good. Last night there were 12 couples and about 40 men the 5 hours that we were there. They were paying customers. The parking lot was full and they had to park along the street.

"City Votes To Purchase Drew Park Land
    December 4, 2008

DREW PARK - The city council unanimously approved on Thursday spending more than $400,000 to purchase two adjoining parcels in Drew Park that could be used to build homes.

The city plans to buy the parcels at 4106 and 4108 N. Hubert Ave. at a cost of $402,800. The money to purchase the properties will come from the Drew Park Community Redevelopment Area fund.."

    Commented on 12/8/2008 12:46:31 PM

  • @ topjosh: The crackdown in Drew Park was explicitly because of a stated desire to improve and invest in the area. That's why the DPCR (i.e., special taxing district) was created. Nothing nefarious at work ... it's what the residents asked the city to do more than a year ago.

(Of course, that doesn't help US any, but, still ... )

  • Hey its always a risk out there anywhere anytime... as far as the hookers..they leave you alone and arent out there to steal your man... and I know most of them and believe it or not most of them are nice... they may approach you on the str8 side but polietly just tell them not interested and they make no fuss and leave you alone. Want less risk go to the bathhouse in the back and play the games even more than the theatre. Bendover does work there so dont take his word.. he is just giving out a false sense of security.
Just be careful and stay in the darker area of the theatre.

  • Bucki....I have to admit Im a little leary to answer your question; seeing how the ONLY information you have on your bio is your age. But to answer your question....TPD and Hillsborough Co. authorities are doing a leangthy investigation / sweep / and making arrests in these types of businesses. ANY place like this ANY time is a risk. To be more specific...Theyre still out there, catching people. If youre going to play, play safe.
