Bar Buka, Lesbian and Queer Bar in De Pijp
Bar Buka is a lesbian and queer bar at Albert Cuypstraat 124 in De Pijp, LGBTQ+ owned and women-led. About 95% of guests are women, and the whole LGBTQ+ community and allies are welcome. There is no dress code and no strict door policy; the bar is open to women, men, trans and non-binary people. It opens Thursday from 17:00 to 00:30, Friday and Saturday from 17:00 to 01:00, and some Sundays from 16:00 to 20:00. Hours are flexible, so the bar may close earlier if it is quiet. On Monday to Wednesday, when it is normally closed, you can hire it privately. There is a karaoke evening twice a month, with the karaoke system free for events, plus dancing, comedy, board games, bar food and outdoor seating. Birthday groups get a free round of house shots if they tell the bar by email or DM, and a drink earns a free postcard or sticker. Pay by cash, Maestro, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
