Bear-Necessity, gay bear dance party at Club Panama, Amsterdam
Bear-Necessity is a gay bear dance party that has run since 2008. Its home is Club Panama in Amsterdam Oost, Oostelijke Handelskade 4, a club that holds up to 1,050 people and has a full sound system. The party comes round about every two months on a Saturday, from 10pm to 5am. The next edition is the Sinterklaas edition on Saturday 5 December 2026, with Chris Bekker, BE_RIK and Sergio Cardoso. For that night the dress code is red and black. Tentative dates for 2027 start on 6 February, followed by 10 April, 12 June, 7 August, 9 October and 4 December. The door is open to bears, cubs, otters, wolves, pups, leathermen, chasers and admirers, and everybody is welcome. The usual dress code is leather, harnesses, sportswear and uniforms. It is a men-only, leather-friendly night for guests in their 20s, 30s and 40s. The same party also runs in London and Antwerp.
