I've seen it all here. And seen all types. Has been extremely busy lately (2002). Mostly downtown business men or others on their way to/from work in Huntsville and some young studs too. Seen a lot of married Hampton Cove types.

Where exactly

From Memorial Parkway, take Governors Drive East up Montesano Mountain. Look for signs to Scenic Overlook. On left before Montesano Boulevard.

Cruisiest spot: Covered pavilion on hill. Cruising in cars too.

When to go

Park closed at sun down. Best times: Great during lunch and after 5 pm. Good on weekends. Dates open: Park closed at sun down.

Etiquette

Be careful. Arrests have been made in past. Woods are good to sneak off into.

Some 24 guys apparently picked up here. Also hearing they were all mandatory blood tested for STD's and a number are positive for syphilis! That is just as fatal as any other STD unless treated. Madison County Health (I know someone there) does walk-in testing and free treatment. They cannot (patient confidentiality) release a name or report to authorities. I'm told this is almost epidemic in this area this year. Get checked and live.....and don't pass it on to the rest of us!!!!
