This popular nude beach is in a forest preserve just north of the chic coastal town of Les Sables-d'Olonne. Plage de Sauveterre is generally considered one of the nicest nude beaches on the Atlantic coast, particularly for the quality of its sand. Nudity is freely tolerated at the north end of the beach, which draws a mixed crowd of straight and gay.

Where exactly

Starting from the center of Les Sables, head north on D32 for 4 kms to village of Oloone-sur-Mer, then turn left onto D80 for 3kms. Follow signs that indicate Sauveterre & you soon arrive large beach parking lot. At the beach walk north (right-facing water) for several minutes to nude area.
