Just do it really close to the door, you can see people coming form the vents of the door. And it someone opens the door without you noticing, when things get too hot, the door will be blocked by your bodies, giving you time to straighten up. They will think you blocked the door because you're using the mirror in front of it, or at least you can use the mirror as an excuse.
