Many secluded areas and washrooms. Hot mutual JO and action. First 4 parking areas off River Road entrance have hotest action. I've been to many parks in the Chicago area, and found this to be the best.
914 S. River Road (between Hwy 176 and 120).
Hours:Weekdays, 9-5
Cruising Info/ Tips:Look for guys by themselves and rub your crotch when approaching as signal. They will either wave you over or rub their crotch to confirm. Guys on motorcycles are especially hot and willing.
There was an article in the NW Herald today about a man arrested for indecent exposure at this park. Definitely off limits for cruising.

I really don't understand what has happened over the past couple of years! Everytime I have gone to the park, I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary of guys just hanging out (figuratively), talking to each other, or hooking up discretely. It seems that law enforcement has gotten a stick up there butt about gay men cruising and are cracking down really unnecessarily hard. Have the guys cruising the park really made a mess for everyone else or are we really dealing with homophobic law enforcement? It has been posted on this web site that McHenry County Police Dept. monitor this site and use it to catch people at the park...and this was reported to a member who knows a gay cop that works for the local police dept. Sometimes I wonder if I have been become so jaded about cruising that I really have no clue what is really going on!

The guy is right. I live 2 miles for there and go there 3 to 4 time a week to rige my bike. Use to be very cruisy with lots of me just hanging out as friends. Now I see cops in camos on the trails looking for men. signs on most all the cruising trails warning u that u will be arrested if u even go on these trails. Now this week I saw the officer on an ATV riding the trails. He especially patroled the gay areas. two weeks ago the ranger left his truck and walked into Hickory in order to surprise any cruisers. (the truck is noise and a dead give away his cuming) The lots are empty at night now of gay men. the only ones that seem to go now are the very bold or the ones that do not know whats going on now.

Run out by a park officer??? What does that even mean? It's a public park funded by our tax dollars and you have every right to be there.
I go there several times a week and aside from seeing the occasional patrol have had no problems.
