The guide

Where exactly

It is on Riverside Drive - immediately under the HWY 44 overpass, directly on the river. Go to US1 into New Smyrna Beach and turn east onto Canal Street (main center of town). Follow Canal Street east until it dead ends into Riverside Drive. Turn south onto Riverside Drive and the park is 1 block on your left (directly on river and under a huge overpass bridge). Cross street: Canal Street

Cruisiest spot: There are 2 bathrooms - one under bridge (sometimes busy with fishermen plus near a playground - not the best one) and also there is a small bathroom in the far north end of the park (by the Brannon Center).

When to go

Park is open 24/7/365 Best times: Afternoons and evenings from 3-7. Weekends are very active late night around 2am when bars let out - a lot of str8/bi guys from the bars.

Etiquette

The bathroom at the north end of the park (by the Brannon Center) is the best place on Fri/Sat nights around 2am when the bars let out - guys looking for quick fun.

Safety

Pesty old trolls sometimes like anywhere - but overall the best place around the area. Cops cruise through at night a lot but are just checking on the fishermen. They don't really bother anyone just drive through every hour or so.
