This is a public cabana, for the use of the residents and visitors of Oak Island (Long Beach). Bathrooms are inside, and there may be some that occurs there, but I would be extremely careful. The police department is nearby, and they could be on you in a skinny minute. You see a lot of families there during the 10am - 4pm time period, but many times you'll see single guys of all ages hanging out and checking out the scene. A friend of mine went there recently and hooked up with two guys in one afternoon, one about 21, the other 35. But again, be very careful about doing anything at the cabana itself, or you may find yourself in the jailhouse! Oak Island is halfway between Myrtle Beach and Wilmington, so a lot of younger guys (18+) hang out there.

Where exactly

The cabana is located on the beach front road. Take a left and turn off Oak Island Drive at the stop light, at the mini strip mall, follow the road for about a mile and the cabana is on the left.

Cruisiest spot: At the cabana and the beach in the immediate area.

When to go

Afternoons, early evenings. Don't go after dark, or if you do, better watch for the cops.

Etiquette

Just hang out and wait. It's a public cabana, so you don't have to be afraid that somebody is gonna nail your . Just be cool and wait.

Safety

Parking can be a at times. You must park in public parking area nearby. You may have to walk a bit if the beach is crowded in the summer months.

I've been to the cabana numerous times, but haven't had any luck at all. Is there a time that is best??
