Trails go west from parking lot. Plenty of privacy to hike to just off the main trails. Another trail runs east, from the other side of the road, to the top of Dagmar. Less travelled with privacy off the main trail.
Crowd: Cyclists, hikers during the week. Wide variety.

Go north on Lake Ridge Rd. (Regional Rd. 23) to first light north of Hwy. 7. Turn left onto Regional Rd. 5 to hamlet of Balsam and turn north on Pickering Sideline 4 for about 2 km. Parking lot on left side.
Cross street: Durham Rd. 5 West of Lake Ridge Rd.
  • Crowd:Cyclists, hikers during the week. Wide variety.
  • Hours:Any time. Evenings & weekends busiest.
    Best times: Dusk. Lots of cyclists use the trails until nightfall.
    Dates open: Year Round
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Typical parking lot etiquette. Flash your tail lights or get out, make eye contact and take a stroll to the trails.
    Cruisiest Spots: Parking lot and roadway across from parking lot.
  • Nudity / Policy:If you get off the main trails there's plenty of privacy for it.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Vast area of trails. Make sure you have a trail map (click website above and follow link to Walker Woods and Glen Major Forest...click on link for map at bottom) if you venture far from the parking lot. Trails are well marked.

  • another great day to hit the trials...bring out those mountain bikes...the signal on the trail...crotch grab or holding your leg in the general vicinity...very hot guys on the trail...great place for fun
