Lake Buhlow

Coming from Alexandria on I-49, take the first Pineville exit (MacArthur Drive) and stay on Highway 71 North. After crossing the Red River and Buhlow Lake will be on your left. cross the O.K. Allen Bridge (U.S. 71 & 165) proceed north for 1.0 mile, turn left on road immediately north of state weigh station identified by Highway sign as Ft. Buhlow Recreation Area. Stay on said road a distance of 1.0 mile, turn right onto entry of recreation area.

• Hours:Days, gate locked at sundown.
• Cruising Info/ Tips:The North Bank, the foot of the O.K. Allen Bridge and the grounds of Fort Buhlow, and Crazy Lake pond.
• Wheelchair Accessible:No
• Warnings:Rapides Parish Sheriff?s Office patrols, and a park employee caught a state representative in "inappropriate behavior" in the bathroom in August 2004.
