3commentsexcellent swimming. Loon Point beach. (Summerland Beach?) Padaro Lane exit off 101 Freeway in Summerland. Walk down to beach from parking lot. Area south of rocks is mostly gay. Take the Summerland/Padaro Lane exit, hike down the bluff trail from Loon Point parking lot. Seems like maybe back in the past it was nude. But these days you see straight couples going for a stroll with their dog. The land up away from the beach looks like it's being prepared to develop houses. The beach is usually buzzing with hot guys from mid afternoon till late. Take the Summerland/Padaro Lane exit. From the parking lot take the trail down to the sea. Loon Point (Padaro Lane in Summerland just north of Carpinteria off the 101 Freeway) used to be good, but it had died down quite a bit. cops/sheriffs have been known to spy from the hilltops and then come down and give tickets to anyone naked. just South of Summerland. exit at Padero Ln. turn left over the freeway and then left into parking lot. Once you park, follow the trail along the railroad tracks to another path that leads down to the beach. I found only a couple of people hanging out in the parking lot. The beach only had a few people running with their dogs and no action at all. The bush area referred to in an earlier post is at the top of the dirt trail that leads down to the beach. You can see a path has been worn but the brush offers little cover and their is a lot of stickers and cacti. Watch where you let your hang.

From Santa Barbara South on US-101 for 6 miles. Take Summerland Exitand take Padaro Lane exit. Park in lot of left about 100 feet past exit. At north end of parking lot look for path to beach.
Cruisiest spot: Look for Loon Point. This is the gay section.

After arresting a 70-year old Summerland man 45 minutes before, plainclothes officers snagged a 50-year old Carpinteria man for lewd conduct at Loon Point County Park in Summerland on Aug. 30. Setting the bait with a smile and telling at least one of the men, –I like to do everything,– the offenders each grabbed the officer's genitals before being surprised with a shiny badge and the back seat view of a police car. The 50-year old saw it differently, though, saying he had been walking through the bushes and as he exited, he lost his balance and fell into the deputy. He said he was –informed that he grabbed the subject's package,– but that it was, –by accident, man.–
