Crookes Valley Road

Is This Your Business?

Large park with plenty of hidden, sheltered areas for activity. Much of the action from Weston Park (next door) has now moved here after the other park's cruising area was closed off and bushes cut back.

Neighbourhood: University

It is located next to Weston Park, on the road leading past the Arts Tower into Crookesmoor and Walkley. It can be accessed through a gate at the junction of Crookes Valley Road and Mushroom Lane - go down some steps and you'll see the bowling greens and surrounding sheltered areas. There is another access at the back, past S10 gym and the Dam House bar.

  • Hours:Late evening, usually after dark.
11pm-3am best (same hours as Weston Park used to be)
Particularly busy after big gay nights such as Climax
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:The best area is next to the bowling greens, where there are several bushes and a couple of small buildings to cruise around. Just make eye contact / get your out and have fun. Lots of opportunity for group .
  • Nudity / Policy:Full nudity is possible in the most sheltered areas
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / Due to steep slopes and several steps it isn't ideal for wheelchair access
  • Warnings:Watch out for the lake. I haven't seen any police patrols there yet, but if the area gets busier they might start checking it out. Best to put used wrappers etc in the bin so it isn't too obvious what goes on here at night.
