Valparaiso YMCA
This YMCA is an older facility but it is still very nice. They have machine and free weight workout area and two pools. The showers are all open and there is a dry sauna in the locker room. There is a whirlpool that is accessible from the men's locker room but it is co-ed. A newer facility is presently under construction.
- Best time
- The Y is open 5am to 10pm Monday through Friday.
- Watch out
- The whirlpool is co-ed so swim trunks must be worn.

The guide
Where exactly
The YMCA is located in downtown Valparaiso, one block north of the courthouse square at the intersection of Washington and Chicago Sts.
When to go
The Y is open 5am to 10pm Monday through Friday. Saturday 7am to 6pm and Sunday 12:30pm to 6pm.
Etiquette
The best place is the sauna and shower area.
Nudity: Nudity is open in the locker rooms. Some men keep themselves under wraps but many do not.
Safety
The whirlpool is co-ed so swim trunks must be worn. The new facility presently under construction might solve that problem with a separate whirlpool for each locker room.
