Surrender Field

The Pavilion is basically a overlook of Surrender Field, it has a loop around sidewalk that goes around and under the pavilion and provides great area for play.

8 AM to Sunset, 7 days a week.
Crowd
All, during the week - in the mornings, it's mosly older, afternoons it's more of a mix.
Watch out
Not too great during the summer, lots of tourist come in and out with families.

The guide

Where exactly

From George Washington Hwy (US-17) North (coming from Newport News), turn right onto Cook Rd. About 1-2 miles, veer to the left on Surrendar Rd. Surrendar Field will be on your left, turn left on to Historical Trail Rd and park at the circle. Cross street: Surrender Rd @ Historical Tour Rd (Off RT 17)

Cruisiest spot: The Surrender Pavilion. It has two walls, allows for great vantage points of checkin out the main road and see who is coming. The pavilion is about 100 yrds from the parking lot.

When to go

8 AM to Sunset, 7 days a week. Best times: Weekday mornings from 9-11 and afternoon from 330-6. Weekends - mornings from 8-11 Dates open: All year

Etiquette

Just walk around, make eye contact, if they are interested, they will talk to you.

Nudity: Have not seen any nuditiy

Safety

Not too great during the summer, lots of tourist come in and out with families. National Park Police patrols off and on, but they don't patrol that often.
