De Bar, beer café of Gebrouwen door Vrouwen
Every beer from the brewery Gebrouwen door Vrouwen is on tap at De Bar, its women-led beer café at Jan Pieter Heijestraat 119d in Oud-West. Wine and organic lemonades are there for anyone who skips beer. Snacks come from De Haagsche Croquetterij, and pizza from neighbour Pomdoro is ordered by QR code and brought to your table. The first Monday of the month is a Dutch pub quiz, the third Monday an English pub quiz, and the third Thursday is Hitster Night. Groups of up to 50 can book the Kuipje, a 20-litre keg of 80 beers with its own tap on the table, for 325 EUR. No reservation is needed for a normal visit. De Bar opens at 15:00 from Monday to Friday and at 13:00 at the weekend. It closes at midnight Monday to Wednesday, at 01:00 on Thursday, at 03:00 on Friday and Saturday, and at 22:00 on Sunday. The crowd is mixed gay and straight, mostly 20+ to 40+.
