Lester River Falls
Although there are swimming holes at the falls on the Lester River the water is too cold for swimming. However, there are nice area on the flat granite for sunbathing. Busier on weekends when you may encounter a dozen other nudists. Facilities: The city has extended the groomed trails further up, and closer to the river. There is already a noticeable increase in bike and foot traffic on the opposite side of the river from what was once the clothing optional area.

From Duluth head north on I-35 to terminus and onto SR-61, continue along lakeshore about 3.3 miles, turn left on 60th Ave., one block, then right on Superior for two blocks,then left onto Lester River Road for exactly 1.2 miles. Watch for small parking area on the left.
