Sunday, April 23, will mark the 4th Anniversary of our LGBTQ faith group, Something Completely Different! Dinner: 6pm Pizza provided, including gluten free options Bring a salad or dessert if you wish! Meeting: 7pm SCD meets every month and is a social/spiritual group that provides space for LGBTQ people to talk about issues of life and faith and have lots of fun together. We invite ALL LGBTQ identified people, whether you've been 50 times or never, to join us for this celebration! You do not have to be a part of Hillhurst or any other church in order to attend. Special Guest: Amelia Marie Newbert! Amelia is passionate about making the world a better place through advocacy, community building, and art. She is the co-president of the Trans Equality Society of Alberta, president of the Skipping Stone Foundation, an organization aimed at empowering trans youth and recently served chairperson of Fierte Canada Pride's national Stand4Trans initiative. She has collaborated with a variety of organizations from the Alberta Human Rights Commission to Camp fYrefly and actively presents on a variety of topics including diversity & inclusivity, human rights and mental health.
