Meet someone! (Just make sure he's a nice doctor!) Jerusalem has its own tiny, but new and vibrant, gay bar named Shushan (4 Shushan St.; no phone; Mondays feature distinctly Israeli drag ( queens who integrate a good dose of Jewish guilt into their routines). One Saturday night a month, drag kings take the stage.

Open from 9pm daily. Sunday nights are women's nights. Be warned: Take a nap beforehand, because nightlife in Israel starts late and goes till dawn -- things don't shift into party gear at Shushan until about 1 a.m. Best times: 20.00 till 1.
