The Buffalo is my favorite bar in Vegas; it's everything Vegas is NOT traditionally known for; that is, there's nothing flashy or glitzy on the outside, but there's a whole lot of substance going on in the inside. Although it's often described as a leather or "daddy" bar, there's not much leather to speak of there. It tends to be full of "regular" guys in their 30s and early 40s, generally the kind with no attitude. Great drink prices and beer busts.
Crowd: Friendly guys who are into drinking, cruising, and having fun. What you won't find here are the queens who hang out at the Free Zone across the street.

From the I-15, exit Tropicana, go east and turn left on Swenson (you'll see UNLV to your left; if you get to Maryland Parkway, you've gone too far). Stay in the left lane; Swenson loops around to Paradise Ave., where it does, you'll see a plain looking shopping center on the left. The Buffalo is right in the middle.
Cross street: Paradise and Harmon
  • Crowd:Friendly guys who are into drinking, cruising, and having fun. What you won't find here are the queens who hang out at the Free Zone across the street.
  • Hours:It's Vegas. Twenty-four hours.
    Best times: Most any night of the week. Late evenings, after midnight.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Buy a drink, park yourself in the middle of the room, make eye contact, and before you know it, you'll be talking to someone.
    Cruisiest Spots: Everywhere.
  • Nudity / Policy:Like anywhere, use good judgment. I've seen dicks pop out here and there and bartenders don't seem to mind.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Long lines for the one-at-a-time bathrooms. This is a hang-out for guys who like to drink; it could really use a good trough or some way to allow you to take care of business and get back to the boys.

  • I recently took a group of friends out on the town. After stopping by a few great places we found ourselves at the Buffalo Bar. Being met by an unfriendly staff we simply moved on to the other clubs in the loop (a typical night of club hopping). When we finished up the night to head home, we found that my friend’s car had been towed by the Buffalo staff at a cost of $315.00. I find myself extremely suppressed that while we support all of the businesses in the loop, one business would actually go to this extreme. On many occasions, we have ventured across the street from Piranha (8.5) leaving our vehicles in their parking lot while stopping by the Buffalo. In fact, on more than one occasion, we have left cars there all night while riding together to other clubs. “Thank you to the staff at Piranha”! The Buffalo is undoubtedly the most unfriendly bar in Vegas, gay or not! This place needs new management and an entire new staff. Save some grief and potently a tow bill, try one of the many other truly friendly establishments in Vegas.

  • what this place needs is a dark room/back room. the punters would be flooding in then. I've seen hot guys in here before, pity nowhere for them to play though.

  • Snooze. Snore. It had occasional fun a few years ago. My last two times were dozers. The barkeep was actually rude, something that doesn't often happen, both times. Guys? Oh, a few. Not much going on. I hope they can stir it up a bit..... watching others drink beer and plunk and thump the video bandits just isn't much fun, folks. Some tourists were there both times, trying to light things up, but not much catches there. Wish it did.
