On the A556 from Northwich, just past the "Morrison Depot" roundabout - picnic area on your left with toilets and trees/bushes Cross street: A556
When to go
Open 9am to 4pm (i think) locked at other times. Food van there Mon - Sat which restricts activity to the toilets. Sunday tend to get more people and fun in the bushes although some people really do stop to have a picnic or use the toilets!
Etiquette
Wait in your car outside the toilet block and see who goes in. On Sunday wander around the bushes.
Safety
Not seen the police here and in theory they are not interested in Cheshire unless they get a complaint (I asked at Pride!)
