Where exactly

It's east of South McCarran Blvd. on the south bank of the Truckee River. From McCarran, turn east on Mayberry and north on River Run Parkway, which dead ends in the park. Cross street: 3415 Idlewild Drive

When to go

Lunchtime and 2 pm - 6 pm; avoid weekends since there are too many families.

Etiquette

West end of the park. Willows trees between the covered footbridge at the freeway bridge.

It is hit and miss, but I have had luck there recently between noon and 3. Much later and you get too many dog walkers and highschoolers hanging out when Reno High lets out at 2:30.

11-20-2008: I was there but nothing was happening this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. This place has great potential but nobody is going there...

Gone the rest of this week but went over at noon and some of the trails have been cut back a little. I doubt the city is doing it so maybe guys are taking some shears with them and doing a little pruning as they cruise!
