This is a modern very clean bath with barber, pedicure etc. Don't be put off by the lady receptionist. Lots of display under the showers and in the steam room. Friendly place. Facilities: Steam Wet Sauna Cold Plunge Warm Pool Bar Sundeck

Mon->Sat 13:00->23:00 Sun 10:00->13:00 Best times: Late afternoons and early evenings.
Crowd
This is a mixed sauna with a wide range of age groups from 18 to 70.
Watch out
This is a basically straight sauna, so use some discretion, but plenty goes on.

Where exactly

Take the Metro to Belem (Red Line). Exiting from the Platform turn right over the bridge. Turn back along alley where buses stop and turn left into R. Pe. Adelino then Right into R. Serrar de Jaire. Walk up the hill (three traffic lights) & turn left into Lacerda. Baths are on the right. Cross street: R. Serra de Jaire

When to go

Mon->Sat 13:00->23:00 Sun 10:00->13:00 Best times: Late afternoons and early evenings.

Etiquette

It all goes on in the secondary steam rooms under main steam room (some private steam cabins with doors). UPDATE: JUNE 2004 - Upstairs in the TV room and the Sundeck

Safety

This is a basically straight sauna, so use some discretion, but plenty goes on. Some gays like the atmosphere at such saunas - the element of risk, I suppose. The heteros seem to stay mainly in the wet sauna. UPDATE: JUNE 2004 - They have added an extra floor with a "pseudo-gay flag" prominently displayed. This means that the closeted bi's and the heteros do not go up there. Plenty of action in TV room and Sundeck - No cubicles though.
