24/7 Best times: evenings and weekends are busiest. Thursdays from 4pm-4am is " Lights Out party " very very busy , the club is darker than normal and you get a flashlight on your key

live and let live is one thing but when you are tripping over a guy that is oding on the floor it is another. I respect everyone's choice to do what they wish but when I am made to go to my room and close the door while the paramedics come to deal with some guy that needs medical attention that is a problem. it is also annoying when you are trying to have fun with a guy that can't even get erect because of the drugs he is on.

kalikid: If you think for one second the drug scene has "calmed down" at Steamworks then I have to question what drugs you are on. I hear of more and more people every day who say they won't go back because they're fed up with all the tweaked out losers running around the place.

As far as the drugs thing goes, it really has calmed down. I remember not even 6 months ago when drug dealers operated out in the open, the staff turning a blind eye. Now, while there may still be sketchy people, there really isn't anyone to further the sketchiness on a professional basis.

Okay. I'm going to try to come up with something balanced to say: JoeyTO. You entered one of Toronto's bathouses. I understand if you did not know what to expect because you haven't been to one before but what you saw was an example of what goes on in bathouses. They can be more or less sketchy at times. There's no way for you to know that without having been there before, but really, what you saw is a function of the people that are let in. At most, if drugs are involved, that should be curtailed rather than shutting the place down. Setting aside the duty of the management, It is what it is and even though it's not your thing (so you judged yourself from your own experience) it doesn't mean that it isn't for anyone. Even if we grant, hypothetically, that it is demoralizing (I'm not saying that it is) that is not enough to shut it down. We're past the age of prohibition. If the club is violating the law by allowing criminal activity, then that where our attention should be.

Atavist: I totally agree.. the drug abuse should be curtailed (in large part by things management can do) rather than shut the place down ( which is to the detriment of everyone). Don't forget: these establishments operate under a municipal liscence which can be denied or withdrawn and one of the criteria when making that decision is their history of EMS and police incidents. In other words..management should control the situation or the authorities can shut you down, like it or not.

thanks to the tall light skinned black guy. you gave me exactly what I needed. I hope we meet again. this place can be great but the one thing I hated tonight was the cleaner that keeps spying on you. don't you have work to do? stop trying to watch everyone. the worst is when he comes into the dark area to "clean" and shines his light on the action. the other staff don't seemed to do this. they mind their own business.

I go here often around lunch time its usally good. but lately they seem to clean the best dark room at 1pm when guys are using it. why not clean it earlier in the day. anyways today i get there at 12noon, 60% lights on, work crews everywhere room lights on etc... i know you need to do work but i think its rude to not tell the customers the place is like full of works and your not gona have fun.

Or how about, act like a grown man, know your checkout time and check out before you are in overtime. If you are concerned with spending an extra $12, then you should be able to get off and get out before your time is up. Especially on a Saturday night, there is should be no expectation for a bathhouse to chase you down and tell you you need to leave or you will get charged overtime. and I like the fact I don't have to listen to constant announcements over the music.

This debate is going in circles now. Steamworks-clearly post your overtime policies and fees for your patrons. Patrons-if you still go into overtime, you've been clearly informed so pay the charges owed. END OF STORY.

if you were to stay past your check out at a hotel then you could be charged for the additional day. if you go into overtime and they have posted that overtime charges will apply then why are you so surprised to have to pay. yes they could post the amount but personally I would expect that if I go beyond my time then I would have to pay the same as what I paid to begin with. if you return a rental car past your time then you pay for the additional day. seems like they are doing what they are required to do. and they are not the only place doing this. all of them charge if you go past but in some cases the staff just let it go. I have paid overtime at xs when I fell asleep and checked out late. you are complaining about what they are responsible to do but why don't you just be responsible enough to check out on time and then it won't be an issue.

whatisinforme AGAIN... why are only focusing on customers? why not the bathhouses who are responsible to give complete information are avoiding to give the complete picture to customers in advance and hide the facts ? why dont only the customers should ACT like a grownup man? why NOT the steamwork should also ACT like a responsible transparent business?? just to mention that the rooms are for 8 hours does NOT shows to anyone at all that there will be an extra 12 dollars' charge on you for being late and will be DOUBLE charge for full price when u r one hour late? why they are hiding this information?? what else u will call a FRAUD then ?

tightandfurry Here we go again! Listen carefully this time. No one is disputing bathhouses right to charge overtime fees or enforce their own policies. What we are trying to get across is that Steamworks is not upfront and transparent about the AMOUNT...get that..AMOUNT they will charge you if you remain after your paid time. If you are so familar with their system why not spell it out exactly here and now for all to read. Remember..it's the DOLLAR AMOUNT customers are discussing here.

for the record..... theres a half an hour aprox after your check out time before the computer charges you. so when your half an hour into over time. your an hour over the time you paid for. you pay late fees at the video store when your late? fighting this kind of thing will just ensure that the staff dread dealing with you. so stop crying fraud.

haha,,this is so funny..i go to all three bathhouses but usually go to St. Marc Spa the most They have the best rates...PLUS they have a one hour grace period where they do not charge you foir being over your time within that hour..plus they always announce when the rooms are in overtime over the sound system so you know and then they sometimes knock on my door if I am really late...its all about communicating try them..I'll be there this weekend again for sure

toronto boi Thank you for the info but the fact remains..patrons are not informed IN ADVANCE of what exactly the overtime CHARGES will be ( in dollar amounts) if they go over their allotted time. This is what this whole discussion is about...being precise and honest with your patrons when overtime charges are not levied in this way at any other local bathhouse. C'mon, guys...it's a simple communication thing here!

Actually I recall that on the price list at the front counter..... it mentions about rooms and lockers are for 8 hours or up to 16 hours. If you pass your rental time, an overtime charge applies. It states this on the price list. Hope this helps.

Oops, i apologize. The steamworks channel did mention the no grace period and an overtime charge will apply but I think its been removed now since the new set up of the channel. I will mention this to them about posting a sign somewhere or something, Thanks.

On the steamworks website, there is a link that says " Email Steamworks Toronto " if you have serious complaints why don't you send them an email expressing your feelings towards the issues. Or call them and ask for the Manager.

-Regarding Steamworks Overtime- Customers are welcomed to have their receipt which states their check out time and the staff tell you when your check out time is. All rooms and lockers appear on the Steamworks Channel 2 showing that they are in overtime starting when you have 30 minutes left on your time. So you are being warned an extra 30 mintues early that you are going into overtime soon. There is at least 5 TV's around the club that show this channel and let you know when your overtime or you can always ask the front desk when your check out time is. If you are in a room , the staff will usually knock on your door to let you know your in overtime or will be soon. Steamworks does not go on the MIC like Spa Excess to call out rooms that are in overtime because that is very annoying to hear inside the club. On the Steamworks Channel, it will tell you that " THERE ARE NO GRACE PERIODS, ONCE YOUR TIME IS UP. AN OVERTIME CHARGE WILL APPLY. " You can find this on the TV Channel #2. There is no posters or signs regarding this at the counter. There is no way you were charged for overtime for 20 minutes, the System gives everyone a half an hour grace period and then once the 30 minutes is up, the Overtime charge applies. If you are less then 2 hours in Overtime, the computer will charge you half price the room or locker, if you are over 2 hours its full price. I hope this helps.
