Wooded area a few hundred feet off the interstate. There are secluded spots, but don't count on much trucker action. There is a Truck Stop about a mile away. So they all go there. No s.

The guide

Where exactly

There are two rest areas within a mile of each other. The northbound one is just north of Wesson exit on I-55 North. The southbound one is just south of Crystal Springs. Cross street: Sylviana Rd.

Cruisiest spot: Park in front of the rest room pavillion.

When to go

Just before dark.

Etiquette

When it is too dark to see outside, LEAVE. The rest areas on I-55 are patroled heavily after dark due to a murder some years back.

Safety

The State Highway Patrol and the sheriff's office. They began to patrol all of the I-55 rest areas back in the early 80's, after a murder. Cruise AYOR The police patrol in both marked & unmarked. As stated before, LEAVE when it is dark. The area is well lit, but there have been prior deaths at other rest areas. Carry mace or pepper spray just in case.

Patrolled 24/7 with 'security guards' (and has been for 2+ years). It was fun before that!
