Where exactly
Turn off Lady Denman Drive at the base of Black Mountain -- turn off is well signposted.
Cruisiest spot: Two toilet blocks, just walk on in. Also various carparks.
When to go
The popular picnic spot will be closed between 10pm and 7am during daylight saving months, and 8pm and 7am at other times. A gate has been installed at the entrance to Black Mountain Peninsula on the corner of Garryowen Drive and Lady Denman Drive. Best times: After dark -- daytime weekends get lots of families, so be careful! Dates open: Just about anytime!
Etiquette
Three options: go into either toilet block, go for a walk into the bushes, or sit in your car and see who takes an interest.
Nudity: Nudity is unlikely unless you stumble across some action.
Safety
Can get real cold during winter. Police visit every now and then but don't cause too much trouble.
