If you're heading North on the A12, these services are inbetween J.28-J.29 or the Colchester and Clacton Exits.
When to go
Best times to go are rush hour times. Its a very quiet service area, but there is lots of scope and evidence that these toilets have been active for a while.
Etiquette
As there is only one and one toilet, which is fully enclosed, I think if you show even the slightest interest, you'll know whether or not you're in for a hot session or not. Or wait in your car to see who goes in and the signals they give you.
Nudity: In the cubicle with a guy, I think you're bang on for no-holes barred fun, out of there, I'd be careful.
