Where exactly

Rest areas are located on both sides of I-10 half way between the Gonzales and Sorrento exits.

Cruisiest spot: the rest rooms by the s on the far side of the s.

When to go

24/7/365 Best times: anytime but evening hours are usually the best

Etiquette

if there is anyone hanging out by the phones, picnic tables near the parking area, or in their car, make eye contact and head to the rest room, i usually go to the first just past the s, anyone coming in to check it out has to go to the 2nd or 3rd past you. i glance back over my shoulder when i hear them return my way, if they are playing with their or have it out, then i will show mine.

Safety

doors are quite low so that anyone can peer over the top to seee what is going on. place is usually in need of cleaning. after dark there is usually a cop in the parking lot, but doors are quite noisy when opened and give you a little time to face the s or zip up.

Not only is the rest stop closed, it has been completely demolished and has grown over. It still amazes when passing. If you had no past knowledge of the area you would never know that a rest stop once existed there... Too bad though. I'm sure that alot of guys have fond memories of the place.
