Where exactly

The park is south on H29 from LaGrange abiut 8 miles and north from West Point about 2 miles.

When to go

It seems to be hottest around 2:00-6:00 during the week and weekends.

Etiquette

There's actually two parks at the dam, the Georgia side and the Alabama side, the GA side is by far the hot side. The day use area has a lot of parking spots near the restrooms and there are a few walking trails with benches.

Safety

Watch out for cleaning crews that come through picking up trash. The park rangers come through also but check outat 4:00.
