Where exactly
From crosstown, take 35W North to the Lake/31st exit. Turn left on Lake. Store is on the right hand site at Bryant Avenue. Parking is in lot behind or on street. Cross street: Corner of Lake Street and Bryant Avenue in Uptown
Cruisiest spot: Gay video section as you walk in, go past the counter and then to the back of the store to the section.

Update: This store is gay-owned and almost all the guys working there are gay. But they don't want any trouble from the neighborhood so they put all the gay stuff way out of sight in a back room. -------- Meet here, brush up against someone a little, then go somewhere to hook up.

THIS VIDEO STORE HAS CLOSED & replaced by a comic store - which is not cruisy so you wont find your Batman or Robin there!!

Uptown Video will be closing it's doors for good on June 1st. As of May 1st there will be no more rentals, sales only. Just thought y'all might want to know that we're losing another gay owned and operated business.

Just and FYI guys. If you happen to go here, they now charge $1.00 to get to the back so if you do not normally carry a billfold you might want to take a dollar with you. Oh by the way had a great, hot make out session there today at noon. Thanks!!

If someone could post hours that would be great, went about midnight, and it was already closed. Big change from the last place I lived where most of these stores were 24 hours.

Was there Saturday afternoon and a couple guys were definitely looking but not my type. Third muscular guy came in and very blatantly walked through to see who was there, then immediately left when he wasn't interested. The guy at the counter was real friendly. It's a nice place again. Not sure what was up the day when someone says it was dark- maybe a light was burnt out? Everytime I've been there recently it's been clean, well lit, and friendly.

OK, so I was just going in to grab some porno on DVD about three weeks ago, and while I had given thought to checking out the cruising scene, it had been pretty damn subtle every time I had come in. This day was the opposite. The video area was so damn dark, you could hardly see the section you were heading for. On top of this, the 7 or so people bumping about in the dark, decided to supercruise me. It was pushy, but not in that hot sort of way. I completely support cruising, but when the line separating retail store and amateur porno begin to blur and people start taking unnecessary risks, they end up putting our spot in danger of wider discovery, risk closure unnecessarily, etc. Seriously, I thought some ridiculously themed porno was about to start filming. Young buck and 7 dwarfs or something. Lacking in taste, not very discrete.

cruiseEditor - I'd like to correct your last posting. There are no cameras in the adult video section. The cameras were on the front counter and magazine rack only. They are for theft detection. The back section with the adult videos is NOT monitored. People are mostly reasonable that cruise this place but there are some that seem to bahave like idiots and as usual have ruined it for everyone else. The owners have finally got smart and will now charge $1 entrance fee to browse the adult video section. If you rent a video, this is deducted from your rental. If you only browse, it will now cost you $1. I think this is a very good move. Those of us that come to Uptown to rent a video and do a little cruising at the same time should not be bothered by this. Those who cruise and act recklessly will probably choose not to come here any longer. That is OK with me. I like this place, the owner and staff are friendly and leave you alone (unless you're behaving like a moron)

Hey guys, A cruiser emailed me the following information: WARNING - Formerly Panorama Video, now Uptown Video, has installed cameras to monitor activity in the adult video section in back of store. On 8-9-08, a plain clothed cop (very butch & attractive) was watching the camera monitor closely & darting back to the male section to check for illegal activity. Another cop was in a squad car parked at the end of the block. Please cruise carefully and post what you know onto the listing. Ed, cruise Editor
