Where exactly
Off of I-80 in the small town of Valmy, which is located 39 miles east of Winnemucca, from either direction, exit # 216 (which is the Valmy exit), drive south following R/A signs about 200 yards turn left into the park. Parking is located on the south side of the restrooms, with additional parking on the east side along the rail, which gives a good view of who is entering.
When to go
The best times are early to late evenings, the area is open 24 hours with easy access from hwy. so anytime can be good.

Etiquette
Parking along the rail on the east side where there are additional spots for truck parking gives the best vantage point to see who is entering the park and the R/A. There are no safe places to hook up outside since it is wide open spaces on all sides. Truckers, travelers and locals cruise this area on a regular basis.
