Update 5/20/2008: The road to the upper parking lot is closed permanently, but the trails are still open for walking. More frequent checks by Parks and Rec people and police drive through the lot from time to time. I think word is out that its a good place to play. Still lots of action there from time to time. Best time seems to be around 5 PM. Look for guys sitting in vehicles. They'll be checking you out as you drive by.

Russian Jack Park, is no more closed now, than it has been all summer. The only differance now is, the Porta-Jon's gone. You can still park in the first parking area, right off Boniface, and walk & hike & do what ever you want all winter.
